Hearty Meal at "Kuya J"

And as what expected the food were not only great but it was the work of the culinary at it's best. The place has been featured in different write-ups and made it's way to fame.

Baked scallops was one of Kuya J's specialty and it's also the most popular dish ordered by his clientele in Manila.
I made a promise to myself that I'm going to eat in that place again. And true enough after 2 days we've eaten at Kuya J's place I've invited my boyfriend to have a dinner there. At first he was hesitant that we were not in the right place because it was inside of a subdivision but I keep on insisting that it's the place. When we entered at Kuya J he was mesmerized by the place because it was a house and not a typical restaurant or fastfood. The ambiance was absolutely awesome and he felt at ease just looking at the interior designs of the house.

He was surprised when he saw that the wall were full of frames with pictures of famous politicians and celebrities who have gone there. And I can't blame him to wonder because the place was not that grandiose and luxurious. He ordered sisig, suglaw(grilled pork with raw tuna flesh), my favorite gambas with egg and to top it all I added a platter of garlic rice. I can't say anything about the duration of their serving because it was really fast.

Sisig, it's still sizzling when they served it to us.

Suglaw savors with milk to make the taste more juicy.
Gambas with egg sizzling when it was served (one of my favorites).

Garlic rice in my plate.

Consuming all this food made me not to panic because my boyfriend had a big appetite and he always rescue me in times like this. Just the smell of the dishes in our table made us more eager to eat. I let my boyfriend taste the food first so he can gave me a comment afterwards but after tasting the Suglaw my boyfriend eventually  forgot about what he was supposed to say to me, funny it was.

I just smile when he keep on praising the taste of the food and felt so sure that I made the right decision of bringing him there. We really spent a hearty meal at Kuya J's place and glad to be there. No wonder tourists from 4-or-5 star hotels find their way to this unpretentious eatery.

It's another spending quality time with each other by indulging ourselves for food which is both our weakness. And finding our way to Kuya J made our stay here in Cebu an amazing one.Try it now!
